Anyone have this fitted? how difficult is it to fit? any probs? been told its 5 bolts, a new gasket on the turbo end and a U-type clamp on the centre pipe..

did a search earlier, am right that the turbo heat shield will need to trimmed alittle??

Cheers for any info..

Ninja,

Did you do it yourself or at a dealer/workshop???

Do you need to remove the top intercooler to get to all of the bolts??

Cheers

It's either very easy or a complete shlaag to do. My mates old shape wrx was an hour jobbie on ramps.

My P1 which had only done 7.5k miles and was only 1 year old was an absolute ******* to do. Took me nearly 4 hours to do in the end.

Reasons? - the bolts holding the dp onto the turbo had literally welded themselves in (apparently quite common). I had to drill the little buggers out....

But, you can't tell until you give it a go! - one thing I can say is it's definately worth it!

p.s. it's easier to remove the intercooler unless you can get access to a proper ramp...

i fitted one to a my97, which was 3 yr old, no probs, then refitted it to a p1, one day old, no probs, removed it yesterday, took me longer to get the heatshield on than to remove and refit the downpipe
