After a sustained 100 mph blast in my MY97 the check engine light came on at tickover. Touching the throttle pedal, not even pushing it down, just touching it made the light go out. After a couple of touches it stopped doing it. I connected the black connectors together and it reported fault code 31. According to this : http://www.geocities.com/subman2001n...ecu_codes.html its the throttle sensor. It's fine now and hasn't came on since. It's still under (crap third party) warranty so should I get it checked out?

Get the range of voltages from the throttle position sensor checked - can be done on Select Monitor. If anything like the MY99/00 the range is about 0.5 to 4.4 V or thereabouts. Perhaps if in the closed position it is less than 0.5 V there could be an issue?
Alternatively it can be checked with a voltmeter at the sensor itself or at the ECU if you have a wiring diagram.
