I've always had trouble pulling away in my 99 turbo, if i give it lots of revs and drop the clutch it just burns the clutch and stinks and I finally shoot off (bad news obviously), if I give it too little revs it jumps forward and then judders which holds me up!

So, do I need a new clutch or is this how they're supposed to be, if they are supposed to be like this then can I replace it with a better one for better starts, i feel i cant take advantage of all that 4 wheel drive traction cos i cant get the power down through the clutch!

You are either slipping the clutch or it is shagged.

You can get a better clutch - there is a new paddle design out that gives 1400kg clamping pressure and drives like a normal clutch - the wear rate might be a little higher - but it will enable outrageous starts!

If you want one mail R19KET - he posts on here. The kit is cheaper than the STI or AP kits
