Can't decide whether to upgrade to a Prodrive P1 backbox (£395 fitted), or go for a Scoobysport one (£317 + fitting).

Prefer the look of the Prodrive one, but have heared that low end torque drops after fitting.
Both are supposed to sound good.

Would like to hear from anyone who has had both fitted to a P1.

Any comments appreciated, otherwise I'm just going to go for it, and spend £400 on Monday.

Chris i have just done what you are attempting to do.
I got my P1 about 3-months ago totaly standard, then i wanted to change the back box so i could here that famous flat four note, but didnt want it to noisey. So i went for the 4"scorpion back box,and then tried a few.

Here`s the results

(1)4"scorpion back box (not alot of noise at all)£200 new

(2)P1 prodrive stamped p1 back box (no diferent to the above made by the same company scorpion)£150 second hand

(3)Swapped p1 box for Scoobysport (alot more noisey but very nice)

(4)Now got the full de-cat Scoobysport system (sounds very loud but awesome with nothing but pops + bangs.

I didnt want it to loud but i couldn`t help myself,Its the best exhaust i have brought for noise quality (flat 4)

Most of the exhausts below i.e Hks,Blitz, seem to lose the flat four note.

I have had Magnex,Scorpion,Scoobysport,Hks Hyper ti tip,

Scoobysports full system are not as loud as the Blitz.Hks,Bpm

IF YOU DONT WANT THE CAR TO LOUD JUST GO FOR THE SCOOBYSPORT BACKBOX BUT ONCE THE CAR IS DE-CAT YOU WON`T BE FAR OF 300 BHP

Hope this helps your choice Chris

Cheers Richard.

Think I'll follow your advice and go for the ScoobySport one (as soon as I figure out the insurance implications).

I agree , have never , ever heard a better sounding box than the scooby sport . Will even forgive the volume which only seems to add to the enjoyement , its more outside anyway . Beautiful .

Personally don't like the look of the SS pipe, so i plumped for the Magnex 3.5" item. £208 + fitting. Most impressed.

I'd like to find a solution to getting rid of the turbo whine that exits the back box , don't like that , it sounds cheap ! Also comes off the dp and is heard at low revs when pulling off . Suppose lagging will cure the front , but what of the back sound .
