ive had both pipes on my sti5 and my advise on hks one would be - dont do it.

get the scoobysport one or scoobymania one (can't comment to much as not used one of these - yet).

All you have to do is look at the top of the hks one to realise why not many people run it, half of it is blanked off!
The other altrernatives ive mentioned are much more open and give better flow.

my observations on scoobysport and hks are as follows :-

hks
1. much noisier than std or scoobysport (i did actually miss the noise)
2. finish is some strange smoothrite silver painted thing
3. blanked off at top

scoobysport
1. much quiter than hks but louder than std (boo)
2. stainless steel finish (or appears to be)
3. much more open, not blanked off
4. most of the 'quick' cars are running them which says lots.

you should if you buy the right downpipe get a slightly quicker spool up.Figures wise it will vary depending on the rest of your exhaust etc, but dont go expecting big gains if the rest of the exhaust is std catted uk for example.

What extra BHP and torque would the HKS front de-cat downpipe give???.Standard Subaru centre section and Magnex 6×4 back box.
Also whats the torque figure for MY95 WRX in lbs/ft anyway??

I have a HKS downpipe on my car, when I had it fitted I wouldn't say that I gained any more power really.

The HKS downpipe is being changed this week for a Scoobysport anyway.
