Cool

Need to change my gearbox oil to Syntrax due to problems with synchro.

Could anyone out there provide me with 'The Complete Idiots Guide To Changing Your Gearbox Oil'

Bearing in mind that I'm completely useless at this sort of thing!!!

Thanks in advance!!

All I know is jack front of car up so drain plug is at the lowest point, undo plug, get oil in yer face etc - it may drain easier if you do it after a run out. Oh, take out the gearbox dipstick as it helps draining slightly. Once done, re-insert drain plug (may need a new washer) - refil with 3.2 liters using a funnel down the gearbox dipstick tube.

I'm doing mine this week for the first time so some of the above may not be 100%

If you go to a local car spares you can pick up a 'draper' oil funnel which extends and makes filling up so much easier, it is only bout £1.50 as well

Dont use fully synthetic oil

Subaru's own gearbox oil is probably your best bet.

Just a quick point, the pictures shown are on a sport model..
The reason i said to buy the draper funnel is because it extends and reaches the dipstick hole to refill the oil....
Otherwise the intercooler has to come off, basically the same as the pics shown but instead of removing the airbox you have to remove the intercooler..

Please bear in mind that these pic's are from USA so there may be a few small differences in layout. The dipstick is right of the turbo Adam
