HAS ANYONE CHANGED THERE MANIFOLD TO ONE OF THE ABOVE?
DO YOU GET MUCH OF A POWER GAIN FROM IT?
DOES IT MAKE THE CAR SOUND RUBBISH AS I HAVE HEARD SO MANY MIXED REVIEWS ON CHANGING THE MANIFOLD(IE-MINIMAL POWER GAIN,NO POWER GAIN,BIG POWER GAIN, LOTS MORE TORQUE etc..) IF ANYONE HAS ANY MORE INFO COULD YOU PLEASE LET ME KNOW AS I DONT WANT TO LAY OUT A GRAND FOR A LOAD OF RUBBISH. CHEERS

Just changed my downpipe for a scoobysport one, seems to have increased torque a fair bit and certainly seems to pick up much better. I'm not sure im fussed on the noise of it though. Might be blowing a little bit so i'm gonna get it checked out.

hope this helps

Downpipe! whose the NOOBIE then? (Just kidding)

Fitted the HKS manifold to mine. Gained a few extra horses at the top but at the expense of midrange torque and power. Dynoed car before and after. Exhaust note is VERY different. Sounds like a big bike now - seriously. Was convoying with my brother (Fellow Subaru owner) up the motorway and I booted it. He'd never heard the system before and said he actually looked round expecting a bike coming past!

Your mods are probably different to mine, so it may give you different results. Some people have reported MORE torque, but on the standard ECU I lost it overall throughout the revrange. A mappable ECU could probably allow you to make the most of it.

For a track car, I'd say they are ideal as they give you much more shove above 5000. My power curve is still rising at 6500 on a UK car (7K limiter).

I would also have thought better gas flow TO the turbo would reduce spool up time, but it appears to have INCREASED mine.

Hope this helps.

I have the SS manifold. I got it second hand.

Unless you have remapped the ECU and have a competent turbo I would not buy one new (cost) as it does need to be mapped around and the gains are nice but not MASSIVE.

I lost 200-300 RPM in boost threshold presumably due to the larger volume of the pipes, but over 4000 RPM it flows better.

It is very dependent on turbo setup and the design of headers.

there is no way I would fit one to a standard ecu'd car.

Agree with John and Adam,

That's why I'm going for mappable ECU next.
