Just fitted this to my car tonight.........



Car (MY99 UK) has a Tek2.5 full decat, Forge VTA.

The Tek is mapped for induction but wasn't going to bother, but now fitted the car is muuuuuuuuuuuuuuuch better

The car pulls like a fapping steam train right up to redline and then carries on in the next gear Feels soo much better and more powerful - I love it!! Not lost much low down either.

Only prob is the filter rattles on the wing when I start the engine but at no other times, have to do a little fine tuning

Anyway - no specific reason to post - just thought I'd share my thoughts!

Your going to have to take me out for a quick blat when you come up mate. Sounds ace!

No worries mate I thought most people were exagerating when they said it made sucking noises louder than a 2 dollar ***** lol!!!

Now - if this goddam rain ever stops I can get back out and cure that rattle. Bummer when you don't have a garage!!!

Forgot to mention I'd already fitted it when you phoned me mate ABout 5 mins after putting the phone down it occured to me - DOH!!!

Aye - tis good, lost a wee bit of low down torque but the pull when on boost makes up for it!! Plus its not lost too much as the TEK richens up the off boost and spool up anyway!!

Had a play at lunchtime and slightly rotated the filter so I think I've cured the rattle at start up

 

How do you like the new sound of the dump valve/57i when you let off/change gear?

 

How noisy are these?
How much do they cost?

I'm in the market to improve engine breathing .. but not at the expense of anything too noisy (stupid really when I've just installed scooby sport exhaust! :-)

What are the less noisy alternatives?
Which systems give best performance increase for least noise AND with least maintenance.

Not much too ask really on a Friday afternoon!

 

Try an ITG Panel filter for about £35 or so. Needs a clean once in a while but just replaces the OE one. 2 minute job to do.

fitted same kit on my car(my99)and same noise when hitting inner wing panel.fixed it by double backed sticky tape(i know this sounds blue peter ish)but it works.
