Question

Is it best to refit the heat shield after having the DP replaced?

reasoning for not cutting it was so that i could return the car to standard when i eventually get another car...

thats exactly what i did (scoobysport exhaust now on 3rd scoob). you could not tell when original downpipe back on and cut heatshield, that it had been cut, without looking right behind the heat shield. most people not wanting to mod scoob would never know to look here, and those that do want to mod would understand.

Just had a SS DP fitted and had to put the top heat shield back on myself with some help (thanks NBG). I did cut it but you can't notice it except if you put your fingers down the back (and rip them to shreads). Couldn't put the bottom part on that goes with the top heat shield because of lack of access from under the car.

If I replace the CAT DP (which still has the heat shields on) you would have to look hard to see that it had been removed. Anyway, I doubt many people would be put off with a replaced DP, with a cut Heat shield.

I may lag the rest of the SS DP.
