Got my k&n today, after abit of consideration i decided to fit it myself with my good mate Burge from club gti!

Fettled the car when stationary, slight noise, nothing too special!- however when driving it i couldnt stop smiling, sounds like i've whacked a dump valve on! When nailing it, it sucks like a Thai prostitute and on the let off it's like a pukka dump valve!

I highly recommend to anyone!

Thanks to Jamie at JWRACING, everything sorted now!

Was that a flat pad filter in the stock air box? If so, did you also remove the resonator behind the right side inner guard?

Dunc it really doesn't sound like a dump valve!

I put a K&N and already had a HKS SQV very different noises, much grins and increased tartiness!

Sti.... (sorry forgot the rest of your name) - K&N is a cone filter, if you re looking for a panel filter then ITG is the one IMHO to go for. Also depeding on what MY you have it might not be a good idea to take the air box resonator out.... I saw an MY01 with a bizarre boost curve after doing that.

I have a MY00 and have been advised by many owners this is the way to go. I've got a Unifilter flat panel and a cold air duct on the way, which goes from the vent under the front indicator straight to the air-box.

We just fitted ours yesterday and it sounds absolutely awsome !!!! Fisrt we thought there's something wrong, the sound is sooooo loud, but everything was as it should be.
