Wrx Jdm My93 cd Hp limits gearbox/Engine
Hello i'm new to the forum
I've bought a 1993 Wrx ,japanese import ,with a ej20g closed deck engine
How much power is possible on these engines and what about the gearbox ?
I heared the gearbox is at it's limit around 350hp ,is that right?

24 year old car,all depends on mileage and how it's been treated,the internals might not take any extra power?
If you're rebuilding with forged internals then might be good for 400+ bhp depending on the build.
The 5 speed ty52 boxes aren't strong and 300+ torque might kill it? Again depends on how it's been treated in the 24 years?
So I guess the answer is,it's anyone's guess.

Mileage is around 100k
The previous owner sold it because it was not running ,but that was a simple fix :The Car was in diagnosis modus
Sure i don't know if it was abused for a quarter century
Service was done but that means not much ,i know
I will do a compression test at the weekend.....
Some People have tried to make me believe that the Jdm ej20g cdb is the "flat 4 2jz"and good for 700hp unopened
but i'm no idiot even if it's my first Subaru
I'm into japanese Cars since Years and have a little workshop
