Help Please 6speed dccd
Hi all
I'm very new to the forum and have a big annoying problem
i recently purchased a 2006 Hawkeye sti
now to my problem
when the diff control is on auto or any other position apart from the very bottom it makes a very bad knock/judder worse than the normal expectable one
any ideas on what it could be ... I'm sure its been covered before but i have spent hours searching online and not found a proper answer
help please

Are all your tyres nearlly the same depth ie have you got a single newish tyre on an axle, this can play havoc with the diffs hence why tyres are best replaced all together on these cars.
You will get a little noise though in tight corners i used to pull the hand brake up one notch in tight parking situation(this puts the diff into open mode)
Check your tyres mate and change the diff and gearbox oils to rule out incorrect oils.

Could be the wrong grade of oil.
I use a 90pa oil in the rear diff and motul 300 in the gearbox and always had no issues
http://www.opieoils.co.uk/p-899-motu...-diff-oil.aspx Need about 4l dont use that in the rear diff though as its a plated diff
And rear diff 800mil
