I went for a six speed conversion with Dccd pro controller. My car is used both on the road and track so was in two mind about going fro straight cut or ppg . I couldnt justify the cost of a new PPG set and used sellers couldnt give me straight answers on ratios etc. Be mindful that six speeds, although much stronger still aren't indestructible. Ive just had to have new synchros and sixth gear replaced in mine.
In terms of performance I love it, mine came out of a WRI.

I'd say it depends what power your thinking of, what tracks your going to be using and how hard your planing on using it. 6 speed is still going to cost the best part of £2k and I've seen dog boxes come up on here for less than that.

Apparently Scooby Clinic have a good gear set for the 5 speeds, I'd also have a word with David @ API.

Is it still he case where the PPG uses a standard 5th gear as that used to be where the problems were, stripping 5th?

Any idea wheres the best place to enquire about a 6speed box? I've got too many doubts with my 5speed although it's only running 335 N went pop in 3rd.

There are those that say a Hawk WRX box will handle 400bhp as long as your not launching it.

I presume your planing on running meth to get 400bhp from an SC36.
