DCCD problems HELP!!!

Default DCCD problems HELP!!!

Hi to all im new to the forum and to the subaru scene as i bought my first impreza ( 1998 sti type r v5 limited ). sorry if this has been covered before but im having dccd problems, when i start the car the top light on the dccd flashes then goes off and nothing appears on the dccd display even if i move the wheel up and down, if im quick when i start the car up i cn move the wheel and the dccd changes on the display bt then again goes off again. any help would be extremely handy, thanks

That's standard protocol when dccd ecu detects problem.

Most likely the wires are damaged where they enter top plate on transfer section of gearbox. Be worth checking the interior connections first including handbrake switch.

The is a sequence of things to do to get the light to blink a code to you, on newage you turn ignition on, operate parking brake, hold accelerator pedal down and scroll the thumb wheel between lock and open 20 times..... it then flashes a code

One long flash is 10 and a short flash is 1, then google your code.

Thats for newage anyway i dont know if its the same for classics but worth a try
