Carnetix / Race Dynamix
Dropped my car off at Carnetix to have the HDi front mount and new turbo fitted on Saturday.
What I didnt realise is that the HDi kit doesnt fit the Hawkeye! Glenn and Becky did lots of ringing round speaking to various different people but it was not looking good.
I spoke to them Tuesday morning and they said they would get it fitted somehow. Luckily there is a fabrication shop next door who were able to make up some pipes to get round the washer bottle.
By Wednesday morning it was all done and ready for mapping.
To say they did a good job would be a massive understatement, the fit of both the intercooler and the pipework is absolutely spot on and much better than I could have hoped for when I found out it didnt fit. They even sorted me a new front number plate and trimmed it so as not to affect the flow into the cooler.
Next thing was to get it mapped, I met Duncan from Race Dynamix at Carnetix Wednesday afternoon, he got all his kit on the car then we went out mapping!
I can tell you now the roads round there are not ideal for road mapping especially when it is wet but we did get it done. Once again my expectations were surparsed, Duncan is a very nice chap and did a great job on mapping the car (I dont think I scared him too much with my driving)
The end result is a car that trully feels like I have always wanted it too, I was kind of dissapointed with the car up until now, the chasis is just too capable for the power of the car and I though pretty boring to drive, now it feels alive in my hands.
And for anyone who has doubts about fitting a front mount, forget it, fitting a bigger turbo and the intercooler I was expecting some lag, well I can tell you there really isnt any, it pulls so fast and strong now, truly like a turbo car should feel like.
Thanks to Becky, Glenn and Duncan
