Question

My Impreza Turbo is due for its 7500 service in December. At the last service, I was informed that new discs & pads would be required on the front wheels by the authorised dealer who carried out the service.

My question is this.... I have an extended warranty on the car but would like to find a less expensive purchase source for the discs & pads plus fitting without compromising my warranty.

Can this be done?

7500 service
If the car has is coming up for this service and needs now disk / pads they should be claimed for under warranty as both should laast longer then 7500 miles. Looks like a typo so should be 75k miles.

As you mentioned authorised dealer, does this mean you have a standard UK car with a 3 year / 60K miles warranty. Have you extended it?

If the car is still in warranty, you should be able to fit any disks / pads without effecting the warranty.

Question

No, the car has done some 61,000 miles and the discs need renewimg etc and I have extended the warranty.

All I need to know is "Do I have to buy the discs & pads thru my authorised dealer or can I buy discs & pads elsewhere at hopefully a cheaper price and have them fitted by an authorised dealer without compromising my warranty?"
