Litchfield Imports

I bought my MY03. Nice enough to deal with in general. Took about 6 weeks longer than hoped/expected. Had to constantly chase for info - wasnt once pro-activley contacted with news even after promised ship dates slipped. Minor annoyance with wrong number plate when I did get it. Car was perfect otherwise though when it arrived so no complaints there. Final Bill (with exception of plates ) was also as expected given exchange rates at the time (which wasnt what was being advertised so make sure you do the maths on the exchnage rate you can actually get).

Nope. had 1st service 2 weeks ago. (Euro handbook has no requirement for 1000Mile service). Dealer didnt even blink at being old it was a euro-import - just asked for chassis number aswell (for the records i presume)

You would not expect them to blink while their taking money off you for a service.
You won't have an IM warrenty though, surely you will have one via a separate warrenty company ?

*sigh*. I have a 3 year subaru warranty - just like a UK model though mine is backed by Subaru benelux rather than the lying gits that are IM.

I'd understood that cars supplied to EU which are UK Spec had the same warranties that UK Dealer sold cars had.
I've just been to see one today, that had been imported from Cyprus, which meant it didn't have the 3 year manufacturer warranty because it is from outside the EU.
Can anybody clear this up for me?
Thanks for the other posts guys.

I have a euro STI7 that Litchfield imported originally. Even though I never bought the car from them, they have been extremely helpful in sorting out issues I had with the car.
I couldnt really say much more about them, I would buy a car from them direct no problem.

Some dealers wont touch an import, i recently had a problem with my alternator. My local dealer said i had to pay for the part then they would claim it from subaru in holland. Cost me £425 which i did get back. I will not buy another import again. I think subaru should get their act together, Parallel imports are the same as uk cars so should be treated the same IMO

Iain supplied my 22b a long time ago and immediately became a friend rather than a salesman.
I have said this before but it may have been lost in the ether.
he offered me a the car by ringing me up whilst I was on holiday and desribing it to me.
I agreed to buy it over the phone and that was enough for iain to secure it for me despite being offered more money for it prior to receiving my deposit.
A great guy of high integrity. I would have no problems recommending him to anyone as he is more enthusiast than businessman.
he has also looked after several of my friends via my recommendation and no one has had a bad word to say about him.

Bought my STi-08 through Iain.
Apart from having to wait a few extra weeks for the car I couldn't fault his service.
Always friendly and reassuring (1st time I have imported a car). Answers e-mails and phone calls promtly (unlike too many people nowadays)
Car was perfect and was set up fantastically by the guys at Powerstation.
Still love it - although it could do with some more power. I've go used to 300+bhp

I have never bought anything from Iain (yet) but when i meet him he is as straight as they come, very open and an enthusiast first, he definately wants to do the job properly as a first priority.
He is the sort of person i like to deal with. I wouldnt have any reservations buying from him.

I bought my STi9 JDM DCCD Impreza from Iain,
I wouldn't have any reservations in buying another car from Iain again, and I would happily recommend him to others. We agreed on a price, ordered the car which arrived within the expected timescale and there were no hidden extras.
The fact that he's an enthusiast, runs one himself and knows his products is a bonus, which can't be said of many other grey importers.
