Clutch price from Tileys at Bristol
#1
Hello.
I've felt the clutch slipping on my '98 Turbo. Slips at around 3,000 rpm in 3rd and 4th. I've phoned up Tileys in Bristol and the chap said that a replacement will cost £550 and there's a 50% chance that I will need a flywheel replacement at £250.
I'm a new scooby owner and I'm trying to find out if these prices are OK and if Tileys in Bristol are good. Are there any alternatives in my area? I don't mind paying the money but want to make sure that I'm not being done and that the work is good.
Cheers

IMHO (and others will disagree) Tileys are pretty good at their mechanical work. When I bought my MY98 off them the clutch started slipping real bad after a month or so, I took it back down there and they replaced it without a quibble. Dunno bout the price tho mate (or anywhere else in/near Bristol. Soz)

Thanks for the reply. Main dealers generally have a bad rep but some are good. I hope this one is a good one. Don't fancy driving loads of miles to get car fixed. Cheers again.

Cheers for the responses. I've spoken to some other scooby drivers and Tileys sounds good. I'm going to book the car in today. Bye bye £800 but hopefully less judder and back to normal speed.
