Extended warrantee
Gents,
I would be most grateful if you could help me out with finding a good second and and third year warrantee, for my UK spec import MY 00 Scooby.
I have spoken to one Subaru dealer at present but alas he was not to helpful, even though I have been using him solely for all my servicing to date
Would it be correct to say that the main dealers may sell me a warrantee or have I to look else where?
Hope someone can help with this frustrating situation
Cheers
ED

I understand all cars have a 3 year/60,000 mile warrenty even if you buy the car 2nd hand. The 4th and 5th year warrenty no limit milage can be purchased anytime before the 3rd year has expired - something I intend to do with my UK MY00 turbo.

The 2nd and 3rd year warranty are provided by IM on UK cars only. UK spec cars imported from europe have a 1 yr warranty unless bought from belgium where I understand that the Belgian importer also provides a 3 yr warranty.
Doc,
Thanks for the info.
I realise I need to purchase the 2nd and 3rd year warrantee myself.
However the question is where from? as all warrantee's are not all the same so everyone keeps telling me
.
If you have anymore info It would be greatly appreciated
Regards

As an x maindealer technician they do sell a extended warranty for uk cars only, coming into effect after 3yrs/60k, almost worth it if you intend to keep the car,as it is just like the original cover,if you can afford to pay thier prices.
Or you could come to me for servicing!!! MUCH CHEAPER

Thanks Lads,
For all the helpful info.
.I have decide not to take 2nd and 3rd year warrantee and just keep my fingers crossed
instead.
After all I suppose we lads that have imported these cars have saved quite a few £££££££ in the bargain,So I had better not be greedy!!!
May be I will have the last laugh after all as the dealer in concern has just been in touch with me,saying that the dutch importer is not paying him for the work already carried out, within my 1st years SUBARU WARRANTEE
So I will keep all you UK spec Euro imports up to date as soon as I have any more smiles to post.
Cheers
