Grey Import Checking
I'm sure you're aware about the Watchdog programme last night about grey imports.
I've read some of the info on Ceefax pages 622 and 620 on BBC1.
Basically, to get you jap import checked out they say to contact your local dealer, take along £25.00, and your V5 and the local dealer will check to see if it's stolen.
Questions:
Is this statement true with regards to subaru? the reason I ask is that we all know that you (UK dealers) are not allowed to deal, nay think about dealing
, with grey imports, thus this check would, in my opinion break that rule, but that would be a good thing
just curious to know what you're opinions are as dealers, feel free to email me so as not to post anything in a public forum that might get used against you.

I just contacted my local Subaru dealer (Town & County, Perth, Scotland). They are aware of this check, and are perfectly willing to take part in this scheme. I was told that IM sent a message to all UK dealers yesterday explaining the situation and asking that they all cooperate with these checks. Oh, and their was a PS on the message saying "we still won't service, sell, etc grey imports"!!!
