Prodrive PP

Does anyone know if your car is transported down to Prodrive or do the Dealers simply drive them down.
Living near Glasgow I don't fancy adding over 700 miles going down to Banbury or more to the point, some pimple-faced 17 year-old crack-pot driving my car
If they do transport it, is this normally an additional cost and if so, how much?

When my Impreza went to Banbury it was transported down. I live in Bristol and It cost me about £200. Transport to Banbury return, then back to Banbury the next day to collect the car.

The IT company I work for has been dealing with Fraser Anderson in Stirling for years. I know them very well and always deal with them.
They've helped me out on repairs / servicing an even gave me a great deal on the car.
They said that they're NOT allowed to fit the Prodrive options, except bodywork mods, wheels, that kind of thing. They can obviously do all the exhaust, suspension mods, but Prodrive won't let them - unless you know otherwise ??
Cheers,
Stefan

I believe that dealers can fit the suspension etc, but not the PPP.
You will be pleasantly surprised to find that Prodrive's hourly rates are actually lower than many of the Subaru dealers!!!
It's just a pity they don't branches throughout the country and do routine servicing

When I was asking the Dealer about the Prodrive upgrades, they gave me Prodrives 'official' Dealer manual.
It just so happened that at the back of the book was the RRP and Dealer's cost price.
I now see why the Prodrive upgrade's are so expensive - its not just a quality thing, the Dealer margins are quite a healthly too
Anyone want to buy an RB5 rear spolier, ECU, backbox and intercooler piping?

PPP kit fitted @ the dealers... Defo
The parts are shipped to the dealers from Prodrive "call them to confirm if you want" I had to as thier was a delay. The ECU's are swapped with units being returned. And the price for the kit includes dealer fitting time chaged to Prodrive.
Just had my MY03 Sti done.

PPP kits are normally fitted by dealers, it is only the earlier kits available for the pre 00' mY cars that had to be fitted by Prodrive.
All 01 - 03 my kits dealers order and fit.
So get to your nearest dealer and place the order as there are a few weeks on waiting list before delivery.

In recent days we have agreed a new process for fitment of 97/98MY and 99/00MY Impreza as well as 98-00MY Forester performance packages at the dealers. Another major benefit is that all these packages will now cost £1600 inc vat fitted. Just get your dealer to ring me for further details.
There are some small detail changes to some of the packages such as the 97/98MY not including pads anymore as most people will have uprated the brakes in some way already and the ECU is now exchange on all packages. We do still stipulate that 97MY cars and all Foresters must have wheel and tyres upgraded.

Mike,
Would be interested to know why you want the ECU's exchanged - are you doing a remap now intead of putting in the modified STi ECU's?
Or have I miss understood after re-reading? Are you saying your old ECU is exchanged in the sense that you don't get to keep it anymore? Or just exhanged in the sense that it is swapped for a different one which I already thoought was the case. Hope that makes more sense

Mike,
Is "recalibrated" another term for remapped?
Would this mean an MY03 PPP map could / would work on an MY02 WRX or are there other things in the configuration of the base cars / PPP maps which technically rule this out (as opposed to us not being allowed to do it for "paperwork" reasons)?
Secondly, have I heard correctly from a dealer that current MY02 PPP kits are now a remap rather than a daughter-board (which is the impression I get from your description of the recent changes to the earlier model PPPs)?
Thanks if you can help

Yes think thats what I was getting at Apple - are they basically just EcuTeking everything now, which is what it sounds like and makes sense financially and technologically and in terms of what independent competitors offer. Interesting indeed although the old my00 PPP has been available at £1600 for a while now anyway. If the price could be shaved off this a bit more the dealers would have queues right out of their doors for an official Subaru-Prodrive remap / recalibration. But since all classics are now going out of warranty, I think price needs to be nearer the £1100 that Tek2 plus backbox plus filter or hoses whatever would cost at an independent specialist to get people really going.

Gnome, I believe I'm correct in thinking that the PPP can only be ordered from a Subaru dealer. It's supplied by Prodrive to franchised dealers via International Motors, who deal with its warranty implications.

Got my PPP fitted at the dealers whilst I waited. The car didn't go to Prodrive.
I waited 7 weeks for my kit to arrive at the dealer and called Prodrive to see if they could speed things up. I was told that they have nothing to do with the kit re fitting or supplying the parts. Everything is supplied by Subaru UK who remap the exchanged ECU.
Prodrive developed the kit and put their name to another company's exhaust. Basically, they just get royalties from each sale. This may be bolox but it's what I was told.
