Talking

I am picking up my STI2 after being in a pretty bad accident. Luckily nothing major was destroyed (ie engine). It has taken a long timefor replacement parts to come from Japan.

3 questions.
I read in a recent posting that Imports can have a 'conversion' to accept 95 RON more readily?

I would like to put bigger 17-18 inch wheels.
Better grip but harsher ride. Recommendations?

Increasing the power from 275/280bhp to 320-350bhp? Alternatives? Where to go.

Just glad to get the car back really.
Yipee!

Ron 95 a non starter if you want more power as well. You normally have to chip car and run lower boost.

Interpro - Dave Morgan 01454 881645, have a demo car - sti5 that has had a £5k conversion increasing bhp and torque by circa 100/100 bho/torque - it can run up to 2 bar boost - even more power, but Dave does not recommend this for prolonged intervals.

Engine internals strengthened, and other features added - speak to Dave

I've driven it - its scarily fast and pulls in 5th gear from 2,000 revs. Interpro were after a driveable conversion not high end bhp, they wanted low down torque improvements.
Some people call interpro cowboys - I've heard in previous threads, but Dave said that Interpro used to do work for Power Engineering, before PE got its own rolling road!
Interpro also do work for Autosportif. Well Lane Turbo's also rate Interpro - cant be bad then!

Interestingly the conversion also allows you to run on RON 95, due to the inclusion of anti det rings.

As far as wheels go I'd personnally stick to 17inch - 18inch wheels and especially tyres are very expensive. Grip is much improved on 17'S compared to 16's - Daves demonstrator has 17's and I can assure that the handling is unbelievable!

Regards
Steve
