hi bud thanks for the reply. what im thinking is maybe the engine has been replaced with a v1 sti? the wagon is a uk 1 according to model code etc. but it pulls too well and boosts too well i think to be a standard engine. from what ive read the v1 sti,s didnt have red top inlets and the pics ive seen they look identical to a uk phase 1? or is it just wishful thinking on my part lol

sti seats/interior also ? with power and such the only real way to know what it is currently putting out is to stick it on a rolling road and get a printout for a rough idea, its doubtful it will punching the same it was when it was new if its done some miles., if it was manufactured after 09/96 it should be a v3 sti wich would mean rev counter in the middle of clocks (black backround) and rev limit at 8k rpm (7.5 staggered red indicators on dial) a version 3 sti would at time of build be pushing out 276 and 253 lb ft ... if thats what it is, a wrx on the other hand of the same age will be a bit less. take some pics of the interior clocks/and under the hood lets have a look.

hi m8 sorry to bother you. im a new member just bought my first scooby and loving it! mine is a 96 wagon but im a bit confused about what power output it has and wether its an sti or not and wondered if u could help? the reason im asking is mine looks very similar to yours, has the same sti badges at the front over the fog covers and also the pink grille badge. it also has an sti badge on the rear but no wrx badges. i guess people add these badges onto cars so thats why im confused. according to little research ive done mine has model num. gf8dk8d. and is a ej20g engine. but some places say 210 bhp others say 240bhp? is there a easy way to tell? i have pictures of id plates and the engine if they would help? thanks for any help u can give! cheers brad.
