Fecking awesome
I'm on my 3rd play through now .

There is one main mission but loads of side quests to do (most will get you the gamerscore).

Is this game FPS or is it more role play?

Both.

You get born then you change ethnicity, hairstyle, eye colour, etc.
Then you have to pick points to add to your various attributes (strength, perception etc).
Then you have to do a test to develop your final attributes after that you can either pick the result given to you or you can change it.
After that the game really begins basically with your father leaving and you having to go after him.

You can play the game in first or third (first is always better imo) yuo leave the Vault then start exploring.
You have the main quest to find your father but loads of side quests.

You do rank up as each kill, discovery or completion of a task gives you exp then when you rank up you can add a perk (there are loads to add).
You do need to find health supplies, items to repair your armour and weapons etc.
You do actually interact with people as they can sell you stuff, give you quests etc.

BUT most importantly you can play the game however you want (e.g. you get guiven a side quest but can chose not to do it).

The menu is simple.
Press B brings up your Pip-Boy 3000 there are 3 or 4 mainscreens (to change you press the trigger) within which are 5 sub screens (to change use the analogue stick).

You can hot key items as well which i think uses the D pad.

E.g the map screen shows you World,Local,Notes,Quests and Radio

Simply if you liked Oblivion buy this as it's Oblivion with guns

I finished it first in about 63 hours and actually missed some of the achievement quests

Not bad. I finished the main game in around 25 hours. Need to play it again and do some of the side quests I missed. I did feel a bit disappointed after Oblivion personally (it's a much smaller game), but it's well worth a play through

Have to agree after 140+ hours of Oblivion (but Morrowind took me 400 hours )it does quite short but they are quite a few rumours of the DLC being a whole new area with more missions a la Shivering Isles.
There are a few really small quests to do that are not pointed out to you directly (as in not actually noted down in the Quests tab)
