Mac guys - brainpick on a wierd menu "ghosting" issue
As you can see, I have a weird ghosting on my menu bar - it looks like a Mavericks feature where other apps are running.
However, they're not!
Any ideas how to reset this, or trash the pref for it?
Thanks,
Dan

Whoa, that is odd.
Guessing from the icons it's a laptop. You ever had it hooked up to an external monitor by any chance, and then unplugged said monitor?
I'm wondering if perhaps it's something to do with Mav's new multiple monitor support, ie; ability to have menu on multiple monitors. My thought is that you had it plugged into an external, then removed external, and so it's put one menu on the single screen but is doing some weird ghosting thing.
It is possible it's one of the menu extras causing the problem, so you may want to turn them off one at a time to see if the problem then fixes itself.
Does this problem persist over a restart? If so then it's more likely one the items as mentioned above.

Hey man
I'm an engineer in Apple,
I don't think its a software issue, can you pm me some more details about your mac, or provide a serial number?
It looks to me like a ghosting on LCD panel. There were some issues related to that on Retina displays manufactured by LG.
Cheers

Well, as much as it PAINS me to say (I've been using Macs for 20 years, so should know better).
I'd also been having left-click issues, and put 2+2 together, getting 22.
I use SMARTBOARD software, and somehow I've taken a screengrab of my desktop and used it as a picture
Problem #1 solved.
The left-click started happening about the same time...... BUT also about the same time I was using my work mouse (BT mouse)...... I took it to a studio last week, and the mouse must have switched on in my bag!!!
<head shakes in dismay!>
I was SO close to a full reinstall
Sorted - much to my great embarrassment.
But MANY thanks for your input - all sorted though
