Default Urgent laptop help needed

Hi guys.
Need some I.t. Help. Bought a samsung laptop off eBay on Tuesday. Now was working perfectly up till yesterday. We had a few power cuts yesterday (not sure if that's relevant or not) but the wife was using it will plugged in then it just went off. Now it won't come back on now. I've tried the capacitor discharge thing and no joy. It just does nothing when you press the power button the light just flicks on for a second but no noise or anything.
Any help would be appreciated. Just at my whits end wit it

Cheers

That's exactly what I did, when mine went blank. It was a technical guy from my laptop insurance cover who told me to do so. It worked for me.

Screens can just pop! Wouldn't of thought it would of tho!! Lol

What's the make and model number of the laptop?

Have you got a boot cd with the laptop at all?

Another way to see if it is the screen, get a hdmi cable if it's got a port for it and connect it to the tv, turn the laptop on press fn button n think it's number 8! It's got a blue screen logo on a number at top, and it should load up on your tv if it's just the screen gone

It's not the screen. It's like there is no power to it. Tried fn and 8 and no joy.

Ok PC world can be temperamental to work with

You could try a small run PC business!! Just ask prices for the service and repairs before handing it over!!

Usually minimum 40 quid a go, no matter how small the job is. That's what they charge here, anyway. It could go up, if it's not a straight forward fix.

Its not a HP is it? They made an entire range about 2 years ago that were faulty, were even taken to court in America to sort it and nothing happened.

Suffered the same problem as the original 360's, GPU wasn't allowed/or couldn't cool properly and just termally shuts down. All the lights come on making you think its on.
