Nokia Lumia 520 smtp e-mail probs
For some reason with my pop e-mail account it is asking and re-asking for my password and username. It won't have it. I am on orange so smtp.orange.net Any ideas?
Hi I have had that and found the Orange email account has gone dormant as I hadn't logged in from a PC for so many weeks and I had to reactivate the account via the orange website so check that
mean while I cant send but can receive emails via the an orange account but I havent changed any settings on my Nexus 4 so may be Orange have changed a setting for people using mobiles sending on smtp?

I contacted Orange and though the woman I spoke to tried everything we didn't really make any progress. It didn't really help that her system wasn't able to recognise my kingston communications karoo.co.uk pop e-mail address as a real address. Suddenly inspired I tried inputting my orange user name (my phone number) as my smtp outgoing user name combined with my orange password for the smtp password. This immediately worked and the e-mails in my outbox were sent. However, the phone again now won't send e-mails and is repeatedly asking for the password which it won't accept. Very odd! I am going to contact kingston comms and see if they have any ideas.

Given up on it, going back to Orange. Lumia 520 though basic model is really good as a web browser but disappointing as an actual phone which is a bit of a surprise - Nokia have had quite a bit of practice at making phones. Very dull sounding and crackly too and I have good reception on EE/Orange at home. Back on my Wildfire S with bugger all memory but sending and receiving e-mails to my heart's content! Oooh I fancy an i phone, if only I wasn't so tight/skint.

Might go back to my pocket friendly girly HTC wildfire s. Lumia too big. Much faster and more capable for a basic phone but too big.
