Scoobynet of course was awash with cries of Flop. Just like these jouno's http://www.networkworld.com/slideshow/53912

Crackberry fans hadn't even started mourning yet. That wake is pretty much over. Nokia also employed people at the time.

I think this post should be a sticky here in NSR, at least for a week. We're all on the internet, we're all influenced by Apple.

Iphone and now the iPad has changed my life

Not being a technical man leaving school some 30 years ago I missed out on computers and it was only 14 years ago when I first got one but I struggled with even the basics on working one

That's why I love the iPad
It's so easy to work
One of my dads friends who is in his 70s came to see mine and thought he it was so good he has just got one and Sits all day with it and had never touched a computer in his life

People seem to forget the best thing about iPad is its so easy to work for my generation and older who missed out on pcs and struggle to learn new things .

The iPhone was fantastic ,incredible to believe so much could be put Into such a small item
I got mine 3GS only 3 years ago then handed it over to my misses who is not a technical geek at all and she is amazed what it can do and is weaning her off writing every thing down on old fashion pen and paper
The 4s I upgraded to is fantastic and camera is such good quality and so much quicker then the 3GS although my workmate has just got the new galexy 3 and I'm impressed with the bigger screen size ,maybe that is the future over the smaller iPhones screen ?

The iPhone has changed my life and now my trusted Filofax which I used daily for some 23 years now just sits in the cupboard after its life is over ,being replaced by an Apple or two

Mart, you've posted more about Apple than any other subject in the last 5 years, positive or negative Apple influenced you and your choice of technology.

This is partly why iPhone and iPad have been so successful, my mother-in-law who struggles with all things technical / electrical has the new iPad and she uses it every day and loves how easy it is to use.

Like them or loath then, I would say both the iPhone and iPad were phenomenal.

Apple didn't really do anything new as such as all the technologies existed in one form or another but they brought them together in a way that the great unwashed adored and didn't really have much competition.

I still prefer the iPad and iPhone, but the Samsung Tablet and Galaxy S3 are both up in terms of functionality and are lighter and thinner and Google bringing a tablet should be good as well.

My 'concern' is that without the **** Steve Jobs Apple will no longer innovate, they will simply drift with their huge cash reserves for ten years and then be in trouble.

Well, they say Jesus hasn't been around for a few thousand years, that must be rubbish because, look what he brought us.

Thanks Jesus.

Yes a thank you Apple and a bigger thank you for Eric Schmidt and Bill Gates take an idea and make it better than what Apple could ever have dreamed of. The results speak for themselves, we now Windows on 90% of all computers sold in the world and 50% of all mobile devices with Android. Thank you, you're the best!

5 years ago Bill Gates admitted he hadn't aimed high enough. Eric is reeling from todays news - Mobile Browser Market Share: iOS 65%, Android 19%.

Still deluded I see Jon.

Oh sorry, didn't realise we were talking about mobile phones, I was talking about mobile devices, include the iPod and the iPad and your figures are rubbished. When is Andriod going to work on anything but mobile phones? Have they missed the boat?
