word and excel numpty
I have an interview for a job next week for which I have said I am competent at word and excel. Never used them!
It isn't an IT job or anything like that but there is a short test on the day and if they want me to do a spreadsheet or something I could be in the poo. I've only ever used Macs for photoshop etc. I have Open Office on my Mac, is that similar enough to practice on? Plus if they expect me to turn a PC on that could take 5 minutes to work out! Ahhhh, Macs.......

Open office is effectively MS Office with reduced functionality so yes similar enough to practice on, as for switching it on - try the on/off button
If you want to get the basics get hold of a copy of the ECDL and work through it, not rocket science and the exam isn't worth the paper it's printed on but great if your new to the stuff
