Question

I've got an early Psion 5.

Does anyone know if its possible to upgrade the OS so it could use the IR port as a comm link to a mobile and then run web and mail software?

Or would I have to buy a newer version?

Pete,

If you go to the Psion site and register, you will be able to download Psion Message Suite 1.52f. This as AFAIK will allow you to use mobiles that have a full internal modem i.e Ericsson SH888, Nokia 8810, 6210, Siemens SL45 etc

i used to connect to a mobile from the ir port for email and web on a psion 5.

ooops, forgot to mention it is a bit slow but that is mainly the mobile networks (only 6-8kbs).

Therefore if you're planning to send/ receive big files be prepared for a huge bill

The Psion Browser is really rather poo and isn't happy with Scoobynet very much.

I take it you've tried Opera?

Nick.
