iPhone - blocking calls/numbers?
Friend has an iPhone 3, recently split up from his g/f and she keeps calling and texting him. How would you block a number? Airtime provider unable to help. Is there anything in the settings?
Being an ex, he might have some x rated pictures or footage on his phone, just reply to her next text, that if it doesn't stop then he will send it to every single one of his contacts.
If she persists, then go through with the threat.
If she stops, then just do it anyway. Much more fun than blocking her number.

One of the options Apple does not provide is a blacklist. Depending on what level of blocking you want, you could setup a silent ringtone and then assign it to that contact and then you would not hear the phone ring, but that's a little low rent if you ask me.
There are only two other ways of blocking numbers, the first is to ask the network, and they CAN block numbers, they just don't want to. But get your friend to call them and say he is being constantly harassed by the caller and this should prompt them. They might decide being on the end of a complaint about failing to support someone who was harassed might not look good. It's worth a shot.
The only other option is, as f1_fan mentions, to jailbreak the device and install a black listing app.
I really don't know why Apple does not have this functionality built into the contacts list. Perhaps the networks don't want to allow it, as they could provide this service, at a cost to the user (Rogers charges about $10 a month for their call manager thing, which allows you to block numbers)
