Default xbox network adapter ??

Got an early white xbox 360 here that I have just hooked up, bit confused did the early ones not have wifi built in ie. could detect the wifi signal for playing on xbox like etc ?? saying something about xbox network adapter ??

anyone enlighten me ??

That would be correct - the originals didn't have wifi.
Gotta buy the adapter or plug in wired......

Okay thanks, if I plug in an ethernet cable from the 360 does this have to go all the way to the router downstairs ?? - totally impractical !! or can I hook this up to the laptop which is sitting next to the 360 ( laptop has its own built in wifi ) ??

You might be able to set it up with Internet Connection Sharing (been a while since I set it up - I'm OSX now)

I use BT powerline adapters, they use the plug sockets in your house to send the signals down, good if you have your 360 in a room where the wifi signal is weak

If you have an old router, you may be able to configure it as a network bridge
