Question Wii Fit question

Hi

I'm thinking about buying Wii Fit board. Could someone tell me how the board communicates with the console?
Is it wireless RF or Infra-red?
I need to know this as the TV is on my kitchen wall with the sensor bar on top. The kitchen table is below and if the Fit Board requires infrared then the table will be in the line of sight and will be a pain in the **** to keep moving to one side.

Hope that makes sense.

Not entirely sure, and I used to have one, it is synced wirelessly with the Wii same as remotes, I never noticed any place where it would send an infared signal to the wii bar though.

Don't think it's Infra red, as i've used the board not in sight of the TV.

A quick google shows up:

"It is a wireless device, using standard Bluetooth technology to communicate with the Wii"

"The Wii Balance Board exposes the sames services over the Bluetooth Service Discovery Protocol (SDP) as a Wiimote."

Thanks for that guys. I really should be more patient with Google but perhaps wasn't entering clear enough search criteria.
Thanks again.

Bought the Black Wii with Wii Fit bundle recently. As an additional purchase it's definatley worth buying the Rechargeable battery pack from Argos for this as it takes 4 batteries and eats them quickly. Argos were selling the pack as part of the Christmas sale for £4.99. And should give you 20 hours of charge. The pack comes with a USB charge cable which you can plug into one of the Wii USB ports.

It uses mini versions of your avatar,

They run out of the wiifit board, and across to the wii,. They then pass in a

long stream all the info being sent from the board.

When your finished, they all run back into the wiifit board, and have a rest.

The batteries, are to provide power so they can cook there tea and keep warm when the board is not in use
