Diamond Pro 740SB
Just been given a Diamond Pro 740SB as a replacement for my Diamond Pro 720. Installed the lastest monitor profiles etc BUT at 1280*1024 and at 85Hz, the display just doesn't seem to be right. Yet when I got a chance to try out another Diamond Pro 720, it is 100% perfect, so it is not my pc.
The problem is that I find it hard to read text in a document etc. The screen is not flickering, the refresh rate at 85Hz is stable compared to the other refresh rates down to 60Hz but there is something else. The only way I can explain it is that the letters are not 100% clear, they appear to be ever so slightly moving which in turn effects my eyesight. I've tried it in other modes but the effect is still there.
Has anyone got a Diamond Pro 740SB and has had this problem? Or does anyone have a perfect working 740SB.
There is no problem in me getting a new one BUT it will be the 3rd model I will have swapped and I am getting the feeling it is ME!! Although I know it isn't if you see what I mean!
Help?

The 2 key components here are
a) Your graphics card (and drivers)
b) The monitor
Definitely check your graphics card is seated ok and is working fine.
Definitely suspect it could be the tube in the monitor - I've personally been through 4 monitors of a particular brand which produced the same thing you're saying and each time it was a faulty monitot. Needless to say I'll never buy that make again.
Hardware faults in monitors can be sooo subtle that you almost imagine its YOU seeing things, but in my experience its not.

Just found out that the 'new' model that I had delivered was in fact 'returned' stock. Have been promised a proper new one this time, should be delivered in 2/3 weeks time.
At least it wasn't me, as each of the models I was not happy with had already been sent back by someone else!!!!
