Using VLC media player for 1080p

Default Using VLC media player for 1080p

I had been having problems using the current version of the VLC media player 1.1.3 I think , when playing 1080p video files.
Came across this cure and it works .

VLC is soo yesterday.

Have a look at Media Player Classic Home Cinema (x64) with FFDshow x64 codecs

I'll have a fiddle with both, but I am addicted to my traffic cone. Worked so well for so long its hard to leave it now

I know what you mean, I used it for years as well, just hasn't kept up in the Open Sauce market and is out dated in terms of HD play back.

In what way are the other players actually better? I've tried them, and they work, but then those does VLC. What am I missing?

(OK Miro has torrent stuff, but I don't use that now anyway)

Media player classic rocks with the right codecs Just download Ace Mega Codec pack, it has everything you will ever need

Oh no

Never download codec packs unless you really need them. They are AMAZING until they go wrong, and then they are a total PITA to get all the rubbish out

Why download codecs when it's not needed with vlc?
