Default Java Issues

Guys,

I'm not exactly sure when, but I've been having problems with my on-line banking

It might have been since windows 7 install, but I can't be sure of that.

I can logon, look at transactions etc
But if I try to deviate from that then it just stops working.
i.e. say I browse transactions, vary selection dates, page forward and back etc - thats all well and good.

But lets say I now decide that I want to send a message to my bank or view direct debits or standing orders then it freezes
I logoff/on again
But go directly to DD's etc then its fine
If I try to browse statement then it hangs

Rang bank, talked to technical people
In our opinion its a java problem most likely they say
Try clearing browsing history/cookies they say

That allows it to work once
I.e browse statement then look at DD's, but go back to statement and it hangs

This morning I got a Java update to V6.20
That looked like it fixed it
I was able to do several different things, but now its hanging again.

Does anyone have any clues what it might be
internet explorer V8
Windows 7 enterprise

All patches installed etc.

Its just an inconvenience as I can work around it.
But most annoying.

Cheers,
Shaun

I will never get off my high horse lol

In regards to the issue you should try installing a different browser such as firefox, if the problem does not occur it would relate to IE7.

Would also monitor the processes through the task manager as something is running in the background and causing the Internet to crash.

Thanks Banny
I don't think I can use FF, my bank has some sort of plugin type thing which has a user ID pre-filled (if that makes sense)
All I do is pick the website and enter my password.

hmmm you could remove IE7 and revert back to 6 by selecting it from windows components and adding it back in.
