Office 2007 or Open Office?
I've currently got an Office 2007 trial version running on Windows 7 but am also using Open Office to save my trial Word from expiring. In Office I only really use Word and Excel. Now, Amazon are running an offer whereby if you buy Office Home & Student 2007 for £64.04 between now and September you will also get a free copy of Office 2010 when it's released in October.
I only really use Word or the Open Office equivalent for bits and bobs at the moment so don't need a Pro version. Is there anything that Word does that OO doesn't? Should I buy the 2007 Word and get the 2010 free? Would I be wasting my money on 2007? Is OO everything I need?

I think these days word processors & spreadsheets are pretty much of a muchness. If you're not doing anything too technical I'd stick with Open Office & save yourself a few quid.

Yes get 2010 it is much faster and will be 'standard' for a lot of companies in the next year.
It will stop at some point in the next 6-8 months unless you buy it, yes.
