Default iMac 27" question

I'm going to buy one of the new 27" iMac's as a desktop replacement, now my current PC has got an Ati HD 4780 1gb, AMD3800+, 2gb DDR ram & plays games pretty well, ie Fallout 3, COD4 & L4D.

The basic 27" is a fairly decent spec, how would this compare to my current setup, or would i need to go to the quad core i5/i7 version with the 4850 card? the lower spec model comes with a 4650 (256mb)

cheers

not 100% sure on gaming spec but to be honest you may be better getting a PC if games are a major factor of what you use it for.....

just my 2 pence worth like
