Clare - first of all make sure you use Dreamweaver, as Frontpage is crap. 
Dont have many books to recommend, as I tend to use the net. Try webmonkey for tutorials and help, and buy yourself a copy of .net magazine [.net website]
Other than that, surf the net, learn, take inspiration, and do as many things as possible to push your creativeness.
