Yeah, I got yesterday am and just a subjective observation but my disk accesses area lot less and normal CPU levels seem much better than before, I suspect it's the new search/index.

Vista is better than alot of people give it credit for, but you need a decent up to date pc to run it properly, most use xp on older machines and tried vista, found their pc couldnt hack it and went back to xp but I will be downloading sp2 shortly

I did have 3 Vista boxes, but my laptop and desktop are now running W7RC 32bit, the missus's laptop is still on Vista. I'll let SP2 install automagically. I try not to touch her laptop, as it's a bit "strange". To get it talking to my new WHS box I had to put a host file entry in! When she finally trashes it, I'll rebuild it with Vista as she won't want to pay for the upgrade to W7. It was fine when it was new but she has a habit of messing up PC's without knowing how or what she did.

Another happy Vista user here too will download SP2 later and try it. Running XP and Win7 machines and think Vista is the most stable out of all of them. Win7 just does not like network drives with anti virus still so they need to sort this before release. I really like Win7 but find plenty of issues with it compared to my Vista setup where everything just works.

Vista grew on me after having xp for so long and never wanting to switch, but swapped for windows 7 a few months back and its much better
Any issues with this service pack? might install it on the other laptop

Yes the UAC is annoying as hell and the disabled "real admin" account, but comparing Vista to XP on its first release, Vista was a hell of alot better and secure out the box and had very little need for driver disks for 85-90% of peripherals.
I mean, what other OS can you swap the motherboard for a completely different make and type and it still work without having to mess with anything?

Right so 3rd time lucky I managed to get it installed however........ I did have 2 O/S's running on this machine. The 1st partition was SLES10 Linux, from there I would select either Linux or Vista. However Vista was the 2nd OS, Linux being Primary. In order to get the SP installed I had to Activate my Vista C Drive.
Unfortunately now the machine boots straight into Vista. Anybody know how I re-activate my Linux disk so that I get my option of wither SLES or Vista?

"piff paff poff" works for me
Mine downloaded as an automatic windows update a few days ago. You can just load up windows update, click the "check for updates" button, and it should be available to download. It is a 500mb download if I remember correctly, so if you have a slow interweb connection, it might take a while to download.

Pontificating
Recently converted to Vista (64 bit) after years on XP Pro. After playing with it for a qwhile I really like it, the i7 processor and 4GB of mem probably help matters.
Only downside for me is i-tunes not working too well.
Maybe SP2 might solve this issue, doubt it though

Mine installed fine.
Only problem I ran into was my preferred audio devices had to be reset to the way I like it.. MS did mention this though. Everything else is fine as it was before, tbh, do not notice a difference...
If the update doesn't show for you in WU, then you probably do not have SP1? I think I read that somewhere as well.
