I was gonna dual boot at home with 2k Pro and XP pro
My dad has total resfused because he's told me microsoft can peer into your computer and see what you have?
Is there any truth in this??

You don't even necessarily need to install a third party firewall. MSXP includes one for internet connections and if you disable remote support then it will also firewall-out access for remote access sessions.

If you install XP on your primary partition (C) and then subsequently install 2K on a logical partition, you could hit problems (i.e. The boot loader screws up and refuses to boot XP).
If you hit this problem, replace the NTLDR and NTDETECT.EXE files on C:\ with the ones in I386 on the XP CD.
Only mention this, as I know a load of people who have hit this problem.

Seriously, there is a remote support feature in XP but it's not covert. If you don't want anyone spying, then simply install some firewall software and block all access.
