Default Help - USB ports not working after installing a new printer

I installed a new Epsom printer at the weekend which connects to my computer via a USB cable.

When the printer is plugged in though, none of the other USB ports seemed to work correctly.

Once the printer is unplugged, everything works again.

Any ideas of what is going on? The computer is running Windows XP from 2002.

Thanks in advance.

Steve

have you got an hp printer installed on the pc as well???
