Default Drowning in Spam, which way forward?

I have always been a little smug because I have never really suffered from Spam maybe one or two email a day but over the last month I have been absoloutly inundated mainly for Viagra ads but its coming through on both of my email addresses (different domains). I need to find a soloution because its currently running at 90% spam in my inbox (after what has been filtered by the basic outlook filters) and I am now starting to miss important emails because of it.

I use multiple computers and laptops as well as a blackberry so I dont think a software soloution would really work because I would need to install it on every computer and from past experiance they have never worked that well (also wouldnt work with the balckberry).

Gmail seems to filter the email perfectly but I dont want to reply through gmail because I still want to use my own domain as the reply to address?

Anyone else in a similar situation? or got some advice?

Transfer your domains to a provider that provides spam filtering on their servers?

Can you not set it as alternate by default? My ex boss uses Gmail exclusively and I get mails where the reply address is on his domains.

I can run spam assassin on my server but its not an ideal soloution as I could ender up slowing down my own VPS because of huge amounts of spam email I would rather shift the work on to gmail somehow.

Yeah it does but it also says something like on behalf of so you still get the damn gmail address shown.

Yes google says on behalf of..... but I can get around that by using my mail server to send the mail and pick them up using gmail not sure if its better to pick the mail up with imap or pop because i still need to be able to check the spam folder easily.

you can set up a sender whitelist on your server (where users can add themselves via an autoreply).

I use a paid for service which does the same thing - Spam Arrest - Take Control of Your Inbox®

my lanse.co.uk domain picks up about 20k spam emails a month - I get about 2 or 3 a week.

Ding!
That's what my boss was doing, soon as I read it, I remembered.

He's got three domains and all come through as "normal" with no gmail ref.

I have looked at this last night, did you have any problems setting this up? I have read that some people dont receive some of there emails (they dont go in the spam or inbox they just dont arrive) looks about the best option at the moment...

I use Trend Micro Internet Security which allows me to install on up to 3 machines using the licence.

I was getting around 250 spam emails per day, until the big spam robot was closed down a couple of months ago. I am now down to about 50 a day.
On average I find Trend excellent.
It get's the spam filtering about 99.9% correct, but I still check the spam folder each day for 'strays', just in case - but it's a lot quicker when they are split between spam and inbox.
Of all the spam filters I've used and believe you me I have been through a few before I settled for Trend, I would say it's very easy to use and the most accurate.

I use a company called 2GBHosting for my email, I use their dedicated email service Welcome to 2GB Hosting
They have the box trapper feature which asks anyone who sends you an email to verify that they sent it, otherwise it doesn't get delivered.
You can set up black lists and white lists.
The staff are in India and set up can be a bit slow, but it works well for me.

Also, the price on the site may be shockingly low ($7.66), but it is real.
