Question CAN ANYONE SUGGEST AN ALTERNATIVE TO WINDOWS MOVIE MAKER?

I am in the process of putting together a dvd from some filming my partner has taken of a nursery nativity play. We are doing this for the parents and want it to look as professional as possible.

I have put something together in Windows Movie Maker which then uses Windows DVD maker to publish it. It constantly errors and I am desperate to find an alternative bit of software (ideally free) to enable us to add effects to the vids and add a dvd menu.

Any help / suggestions would be appreciated as we would like to be able to have a dvd done this week.

Cheers

I have read on the net that Windows Movie Maker and DVD maker have a lot of bugs so I'm not alone with this problem - desperate to find a good bit of software

I've used previous versions of MyDVD from Sonic for a few slideshows with music and it worked great, miles better than MM.
Not free tho

You pay what you get for I'm afraid. Personally, I'd recommend Premiere Elements. Not free, but not that expensive either...

Perhaps I'm missing something here, but this leads me to assume you're charging for it.

In that case, IMHO, speculate to accumulate - do a cr@p job now, and you're missing out on the opportunity of doing future productions!!

Pay for some decent software and you'll reap the rewards!

Of course, you probably know this

Adobe is probably the way forward to start with. Depending on how mercenary you are, Torrent the application you want
