Seeing as the other GoW2 thread seems to have gone all CoD4 I just thought anyone waiting for GoW2 might be interested to know Blockbuster say they are selling it for £34.99

Come Friday it might be worth checking out Sainsburys because they have been having some good £29.99 deals on new xbox games.

Edit - Over on hotukdeals.com, looks like ASDA will be selling GoW2 for £30 while Sainsbury's will be £29.

confused as to what i should do
finished dead space yesterday with a view of trading it in against GOW

but asda do not do trade in games
local gameshop will probably be a bit more expensive then asda, but i doubt i will play dead space again and better to trade it in while its worth more ?

edit, just checked the website and my local games shop will be doing it for 39.99 so **** that, will trade dead space in for something else and just boy GOW from asda in the morning

Mine came this afternoon !! however in work till tomorrow morning then bed for a few hours

 

wondered why people were already playing online!

 

been playing the old one this afternoon and was kicking *** with the liitle bolltok pistol (and i used to hate this )

just rechecked my local games shop and its now down to £36, so will just pop around and pick one up from them, they seam to give pretty good trade in prices for "new" games so i assume i will get back about £26/27/28 for dead space.

what's blockbusters pricing like for trade ins?

 

Sticky, i'm in the same position. Just completed Dead Space and can't see me going back through it. Blockbusters said they would give me £24 exchange which I thought was good (you can get Dead Space new on ebay for £30!)

 

I started playing last night and rather stupidly started the game on Hardcore..... After attempting the first chapter about 40times I've switched back to normal mode... god only knows what insane is like...!

Loving it so far....

 

Got it for £32 from Asda at midnight. Not Played yet ... off to the Dentist forst then the rest of the day to play

I was going to start at Hardcore after finising the first game on Insane last year.I've heard a few people make the same comments about how tough it is.

hardcore was a doddle in the old game

 

IMO Hardcore is much harder than the first game..

I was stuck on 1 section last night ( the reaver encounter ) for over 30mins and died about 40times on hardcore, I set it to normal and passed it first time ?!?! Normal is maybe to easy/easier but hardcore is just solid.... Or I could just be ****

i am now at act 3 and have only died twice

messiah was at around act 4 chapter 4 when i looked before, cant belive i have been sitting on the couch like a vegatable for the past 6/7 hours


it wont let me join a multiplayer game, i keep getting a "remote parties restarted the matchmaking" message

thoughts so far
hated the "tank" bit and died loads until i worked out which way the ice breaks, also hated the dark bit in the tunnel at the beguinning, that bit sucks

the graphics are a vast improvement, so much more detail, some of the backgrounds or amazing to look at and seam much more "vast" in scale

loving some of the comedy moments so far

carmins brother trying to explain how the helmets have air filtration and if they wore one they would not get dust in the lungs, reply from dom "if i had one of them i could not see the snipers so good" or words to that effect =

also noticed another little quip at carmine later when dom shouted out for him to look for snipers

did anybody do the "sniper target practice" ? managed 6, after 5 marcus stopped counting so assumed it was pointless carrying on, does anything unlock if you get them all?

Just completed it on Hardcore a minute ago, I found it quite easy but i was in co-op.

 

to be honest i wish i had of started it on hardcore now as it seams tooo easy at the moment, it feels like casual mode on the old one

will no doubt end up playing the full campaign about 5 /6 times like the last game anyway, so will ramp it up next time around (will probably be doing co-op with my crap mate lol)

 

Just got to the snow/tank bit and put it down for the day .... Act 3.5 ish I think so it seems a bit sort

Graphics and the improvment in the achievement counters is a good step forward. Looking forward to multiplayer when I've got the mojo back

 

Multiplayer seems ok at first glance. I can't get used to the fast running though, I seem to go all over the place!

Graphics are good, but still very grey.

It does seem easier than the first one.

 

Im loving gears 2 it feels better than the 1st one imo,
Hardcore is really meant to be played in co-op so it will be tough on your tod.

Just waiting for the kids to go to bed so i can get on the multiplayer

 

just had a game on live and i didnt too so good as i have been playing cod4 ,i then had a voice message from an american swearing at me never to go on his game with his friends again .

o how i laughed but common this is what was wrong with the first one on multiplayer people always kicking you out or own teammates kiling you on purpose and i was real good at gears of war 1 online

no game on live comes close to cod4 imo

 

picked it up on pre order this morning but cant really give it the beans till monday as im working
