pro evo or fifa???
need to buy either pro evo 2009 or fifa 09. i've always been an pro fan, but i've got feedback that the new one doesnt compare to the new fifa
should i switch???? i love pro evo though
whats your opinions if you've played either

Tricky. I think that the FIFA have made a genuine effort to bring thier game forward, and have suceeded by and large. Pro Evo on the other are still rooted in PS2 days (8 way movment /Same animations etc). I have been Pro Evo since day one. But, after PES2008, I thought , they really aren't even trying anymore.
I played the FIFA demo, and it looks grea t- I just couldnt get along with the style of play. However, I think that's because I am so used to how PES plays. I think I may make the switch and force myself to learn FIFA, because I think this year, the general consensus is that EA have finally overtaken Konami in the league.

I disagree about EA have overtaken Konami, played both demos and after trying PES2008 last year I was fully prepared to switch to Fifa09, but PES2009 is miles ahead of PES2007 and PES2008 so i've stayed a Konami customer this year. I think Konami have put a lot more effort into this one.
I still think PES 04 was the best and ISS on the PS1 was leagues ahead of anything at the time
Even with 2 360's and a PS3 I still use the PS2 occasionally as some of the game play just can not be beaten on the PS2.

Have to say havent played the new fifa game but havent played one sober since fifa 98.
I also hold a grudge against EA sports since they stopped other companies from making NFL games with proper teams.
As previously mentioned with the older PES4, ESPN NFL 2005 is still better than the new Madden game by EA, 4 years later and EA still cant compare with ESPN's game. Bit off topic there but hey.

played both, PES2009 is a big improvement to 2008 but they've lost all their licences. fifa has all the official teams and players. game play wise, PES will always be the one for me although on fifa you can re-configure the buttons to PRO style
