Small notebook size laptop ?

Small notebook size laptop ?
My wife's IBM thinkpad T20 has given up so we need to get her a replacement.
She really liked the size of it (14.5" screen I think) and thinks the new Dell's are too big/bulky so we looked at notebooks (only needs it for surfing and odd spreadsheet)
Dell do a "mini" but they are wireless and we know wireless in our house is poor so want a notebook or small laptop, decent spec, non-wireless for her - any suggestions ? We have about £400 tops to spend.
