I've been aimlessly driving aorund for over 3 hours (completing most wanted, races etc to keep me from getting too bored) however, they're all over now and the last mission I did was Pest Control.
I've found a walkthru which tells me which missions are pre-requists to unlock the next missions. Now Pest Control is mission 99, I've traced it back to a mission called I Need Your Motorcycle (mission 79!!!) which Gerry is meant to get you to do (my stats say I've only done 44% of his missions). However, I have done the pre-requisit missions for it but have never been contacted by Gerry to do the next mission.
There's no mission markers on my map and no yellow markers outside the last police station I saw Gerry in.
I'm really fecked off by this and it's really spoiling the game for me now

Has anyone else heard of something like this happening? if so is there anyway to kick start it again? I haven't got any saves to go back to cause I just kept going over the same one.

edit to add, yes I have tried ringing everyone in the phonebook memory

 

Try going to the internet cafe and follow online instructions. Your next mission is to buy a car from gracie which you book via the net.

I can't remember if you get an email or if you browse the adverts.

 

Do you need to increase your friend rating ??

 

All of them are 100% or at least above 90%

Have you done the dating mission yet where you have to go to the dating website and set up a meeting (in order to wipe out the target). You have to look for a specific person (although I can't remember who off the top of my head - it's been a while since I finished the game)...

 

Nope haven't done that one Iain.
I've dated Kiki and Carmen (since crashed the bike when taking Carmen out and she dumped me )
I've requested dates from all the women on Lovemeet but the only response I've got is Carmen saying she'll go on a date (again!?)

Found a site that lets you list what you've done (so you can check off 100%)
My actual ingame %age is around 74% but the above is correct in terms of the missions I've done so far.

 

Have you been to the prison to visit Gerry?

 

In that particular mission you have to get a date with a bloke

 

i got stuck once and for some random reason another letter had appeared on the map, with no reason why, which was another set of missions.

not sure if i missed some kind of story with it, cant even remember what it was now, but it seamed a little buggy at the time.

 

Bear in mind that the Gambini "G" doesn't appear in yellow - its a grey G on a grey map..... Some of the markers are difficult to see.

Yeah I did think I may have missed something, so I've zoomed right in and checked each marker.

It seems that it's the McReary story line that's got stuck (Packie's likeness of me had dropped to 80% whilst I carried on with the other story lines). He's now at 100% and calls me quite a lot to go drinking etc so I'm hoping it'll kick start the McReary missions.

 

Have you done Gerrys mission where you have to arrange a test drive of that girls' car, so you can kidnap her? You usually get it after you visit Gerry in prison I think - go and look on the web on the car website and find the pink merc convertible!

 

Ah good point - You have to go to on the internet, look on the car sales website, and look for a pink convertible and make a note of the number, then call it.

 

ohh no I haven't done that one. Surely someone should prompt me to do that though? How else would you know to do that? I haven't been to see Gerry in prision (last time I saw him he was ok in the station?!)

Least theres a bit of hope that I might actually get to finish the game now!

Get in a taxi and see if there are any ,listed missions.

 

Ahh right, I think you have to go and visit Gerry in prison before you get that mission so I'm not sure if you'll have it yet!

 

I've driven over to the prision a few times, no yellow marker so I presume I need to be prompted by the game?

 

Yeah pretty sure he rings you asking you to come visit, did you try a taxi as pimmo stated to see if any mission markers show as a destination?

Also did you save after your last mission, could be you are looking to start the next where as you still need to re-do the last again?

 

I've not had a chance to play it since the weekend. Deffo saved after sucessfully completing 'Pest Control'

could it be possible that you have halfway into a mission, so no markers are available, but you still have some random chap on the map somewhere needing killed?

 

I'm pretty sure I've completed Pest Control.
Got a date with a woman off Craplist.net but I can't see that progressing the main story line.
Iain, I've used a similar list to work out the mission I need to do. Entourage needs some pre-requist missions I haven't done.

Success!!
Sat down with a mate who'd completed it and went though the missions I'd done. Transpires I had to go meet Derrick who was on a park bench in a little park on the third island. No markers on the map and the yellow marker on the screen I'd never have seen unless I deliberatly gone into the park!
I think I've done about 46 hours on it now (12 of those probably aimlessly driving round doing sub missions waiting for the main story missions to kick in!).
