Default Need a messaging program

Hi All,
In my work we are after a messaging program that can send out messages to student machines. I know I know, this should be pretty straightforward to do however the program must meet these requirements

* Client/Server setup so ideally, the helpdesk install a console on thier machines and can target groups of computers at a time and send them messages

* Will be in a student enviroment so the students should be able to close the window that pops up but not send messages themselves using the program, so they must not be able to access to messaging program just recieve the messages that are thrown at them

* Needs to be multiplatform, Mac OS 10.x, Windows XP, Vista MUST be supported

* Runs on startup in the background

* Ideally would be able to send pictures, text, even documents etc.

* As ever must be as cheap as possible

* Site license would be great, I don't want much do I

I doubt something can meet all these requirements but.....

Found a few programs this morning but some were peer-peer type which is a no no. Others were not multiplatform etc.
