Take with a pinch of salt as it's unconfirmed.

We'll see
Problem with add on features, that require a purcahse on behalf of the consumer, are rarely supported en masse by publishers/developers. It's just not worth the risk because you limit your available market to people that have bought the device.
If they bundle it amlost free with a game though it could be a winner.
As Sixaxis has shown though, unless you go from the ground up as per wii and make it the fundamental method of contorl, it alsways comes across as an afterthought.
Good news about the install though - However, again, it depends how many publishers decide to support it, given that not everyone can install.

Past updates have been quite good and this one has a genuine look about it - if not someone has far too much time on their hands...
BTW I thought we'd already had the Spring update - I guess if it appears this will be towards the later part of the year?

I think it would be a smart move and open up the casual gaming market more for them.
Isn't 'Lips' supposed to be announced today too, anyone heard anything more?

Quite possibly, but again why would a developer create a game for it, with a limited audience, when he can develop for Wii at half the cost, with a massive audience already there.

It would most likely tie in with XBL games, which I doubt cost twice that of a Wii game to produce.

some intersting items in that list - liking the option that 0G games are vaped from gamercards - about damn time.
another good one is seeing game updates as items - hopefully they'll add an option to clear the cache seeing as thats where updates are currently stored, no point in having loads of updates occupying system memory when you can only play 1 game at a time.

You can already clear the cache by doing the following
Go to the system blade and then select memory.
Press Y on the HD symbol and then press X,X,Left Bumper, Right Bumper, X,X. Once you do this a messsage will appear saying: Do you want to perform maintenance on your Xbox 360 storage devices?
Performing this function will also clear any software updates.

yeah I know, buts more of a cheat code and actual system maintenance setting.
When I've done it in the past I've certainly noticed a speed bump on the dashboard, I'd do it more often if I could remember the damn procedure in my head.
would be good if the 360 automatically dumped an update from the cache if the game hadn't been played for say 1 month. Think I'll do a cache clear tonight - probably got updates for a dozen games I no longer own in there...

God knows why they hid it like that, would be much easier if it was one of the options in the system blade.
I only found out about it when mine was playing up and I searched the MS site for help.

Oblivion is reknowned for problems, I think it uses a good bit of the cache and doesn't clean up after itself when you've stopped playing it. It was after Oblivion that I did my first clear and it was certainly beneficial.
A bit of pain that everygame afterwards needs the update re-downloaded but it's only a minor inconveneince and is certainly outweighed by speed bump.
I'd be interested to see what's occupying space within my profile, new ones are only 1mb but mine's at 15mb.

Looks like that was a fanboy list of wants
official word is :
In this exclusive interview with general manager of Xbox Live Marc Whitten, Next-Gen gets all the first details on big changes to the service--including that there will be no spring dashboard update, and that underperforming XBLA titles will be removed.
According to Whitten, XBLA titles that have been out for more than six months, have a Metacritic score of less than 65%, and have a conversion rate of less than 6% will be eligible for desliting. Microsoft will give three months of notice before these titles are removed.
Whitten also told us that there would be no spring dashboard update for Xbox 360 owners this year, saying that resources were instead focused on "building the proper infrastructure and scale for the service." There will however be a change to DRM policy and a tool released next month that will allow 360 owners to re-license content to a single console--finally fixing the issue that forced gamers playing XBLA games to be connected to Xbox LIVE if their 360 broke down and was replaced.
